Lifting up a Standard for the People:
The Gospel & How to Live

About Us

Our Scripture Foundation

Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Isaiah 62:10

Our VisionA Standard Ministry is dedicated to lifting up the Standard of Jesus Christ to the world. We wish to serve as God directs, lifting up our voice as a trumpet in these perilous times, pointing people to the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world, and to His Standard of Righteousness. Our Three-Fold Strategy (Lord willing):1. Visual TeachingUsing the imagery of the Sanctuary and Bible Prophecy in seminars, camp-meetings, and evangelistic series. We have partnered with a ministry already engaged in this work. As it is more cost-effective to assist an established ministry than to start our own, we will continue in this role for the foreseeable future, unless the Lord directs otherwise.2. Health & HealingProviding healthy lifestyle seminars, cooking classes, and natural remedies instruction. We are currently actively learning both the theoretical knowledge and the practical application of these principles.3. Publishing & DistributionSharing Bibles, Christian books, and tracts. We hope to print our own materials for sale at cost plus shipping and handling, and also freely share what we’ve published under a CC BY-ND 4.0 license, allowing others to print them at no additional cost. We only ask that they not be used for mass mailings, and not distributed in any way that would make the Word of God of none effect.

Our Work & Plans

Work UpdateCurrent
1. We completed a series of evangelistic meetings throughout the summer, concluding in October. We are now assisting with preparations for next year.
2. We also will soon have three tracts available for free distribution. (Click “Resources” on the homepage to access them.)
Future Plans
Short-term:
1. Continue work on typesetting and publishing a Bible, several Christian books, and additional tracts.
Long-term:
1. Develop a complete series of pocket Bibles, books, and tracts, both in print for purchase and as free downloads.

The Standard

Our Standard is not our own but what is given to us by the Holy Scriptures. Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. Isaiah 49:22But what is a standard?Definition – Standard:
1. An ensign of war; a staff with a flag or colours. – Webster’s 1828 Dictionary [Adjusted for UK Spelling]
2. That which is established by sovereign power as a rule or measure by which others are to be adjusted. – Webster’s 1828 Dictionary
So let’s take a look at the standard together. While we use official heraldry terminology (called a blazon), we will explain as we go. Note: experts in blazon will probably notice we did these out of traditional order and that we break some rules of heraldry. That is because the message is that important! It stands as a challenge to the traditions of man!The first thing you will probably notice on our Standard (Logo) is:1 Lamb Argent(that is to say, a single white lamb)The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16Jesus Christ is our Standard! He is everything—Creator, Redeemer, Lord, and Saviour! There is no other name under heaven whereby we may be saved! (Acts 4:12) All that is needed is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and ye (that means everyone) shall be saved! (Acts 16:30–31) That means to have faith, or continual trust in Him (Hebrews 11:6). But what does that look like practically? That takes us to the rest of the standard.Cross Gules(that means the red cross)And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23Jesus Christ died to give you the greatest gift ever given to man, eternal life. A life without sickness, sorrow, or strife. But it does require us to follow Him; after all, He is our Lord, our Standard. He didn’t live for Himself. He came, suffered, and died for YOU! (See Isaiah 53) Hence the cross is red with the blood of Jesus Christ! The least we can do is likewise die to self every day and surrender our lives to Him. That is to be born again. Ye MUST be born again! (John 3:7)Chevron Throughout Azure(that is the blue upside‑down “V.” It is unbroken and it extends through the entire standard even when hidden by the cross, hence “throughout”)If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48In the Bible, blue represents remembering and obeying the Law of God (see Numbers 15:38–40). Jesus is very clear that we are to obey God’s law, even now in the Christian Age. The apostles likewise agreed (see James 2:10–12, Romans 6, and 1 John 3:4). There is one royal law, one standard of righteousness established by the sovereign power of God; the Ten Commandments! You can find them in Exodus 20:3–17 and repeated in Deuteronomy 5:6–21. But does keeping the law make us righteous?Field Argent(that is the white background of the standard)In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jeremiah 23:6In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness. Jeremiah 33:16And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Revelation 19:8Jesus Christ is our righteousness, male or female, we can do nothing good of ourselves; all our righteousness is as filthy rags! Yet when we accept Christ Jesus, He gives us His righteousness! That also means He promises to make us righteous, not just to forgive, but to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). That means all sin, all iniquity, all our transgressions; to be wholly His, mind, body, and soul!1 Crown of Thorns Or in Middle Chief(that is the golden crown of thorns at the top centre)3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:3–5
He suffered, dear sinner, brother/sister. He suffered and died that you might have life, and have it more abundantly! (John 10:10) That is how much He loves you!Bordure Purpure(the purple border)The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. Matthew 10:24Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Revelation 2:10He is our King. Red and blue combined make purple. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God [blue], and the faith of Jesus [red]. Notice it is the faith of Jesus, not merely faith in Jesus! (Revelation 14:12) That same selfless faith and love He showed on the cross when He shed His blood for you. He is offering it to you, dear brother/sister.Motto: “Isaiah 62:10”Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. Isaiah 62:10And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 10:7Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22That is our motto, to lift the standard. We are to share the final warning to the world. Jesus is coming again! Will you accept the Standard today?

Testimony

“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” John 14:9

I was raised in the christian faith. At a young age I was baptized into the faith. I never stopped claiming the faith. But I did not live it.My life is a story of miracles of God saving me from myself. I cannot in this bio cover everything, as such this is a broad stroke of my life. But I hope this testimony encourages
others.
I was born on a Monday. With the umbilical cord around my neck twice. I should have died. I didn't. Instead in 10 minutes thanks to God, a hard working doctor, and a grandmother's prayers I was a normal healthy baby. I am told I was a happy baby too.Yet early on in my life, I suffered from depression. Suicidal thoughts would plague me, for most of my life. This was the first of many temptations of Satan that God would eventually save me from.Shortly after I got baptized (when I was 10-12) I awoke one night to pale light in my room. I heard a voice in the distance wailing, "Why hast thou forsaken me?" I ran to my grandmother's room. Her room was pitch black. She calmed me down and reminded me Jesus said those words on the cross. (Matt 27:46, Mark 15:34) At the time this was reassuring. Yet over time in my mind it stuck, that somehow I had forsaken God. Yet when I returned to my room, I sang songs of praise, and though I do not remember it, my grandmother in a letter reminded me; that I had heard voices sing with me. (I told her the next morning.)Yet even something so supernatural did not have a lasting effect on the course of my life. I went to private Christian school from 7th grade to 3 years of college. During that time I became a worldly Christian. I watched Hollywood movies, I played video games, I listened to all manner of music even heavy metal, I became addicted to porn. Yet outwardly I was a normal Christian: I went to church. I would discuss religious things with people if they felt so inclined. I only worked 6 days a week, and would not work the 7th. I even went on a mission trip halfway around the world. But other than my porn addiction I felt no guilt for my worldly life. While I was in college my grandmother died. I was bitter at God for taking her. Told him, I hated him. Unsurprisingly after college my spiritual walk, which was already dying, continued to fall. Now I took up sins more publicly but in "moderation"; I drank booze, I would curse like a sailor, I would work 7 days a week. Yet again only my more dark sins bothered me.I was now a truck driver. I made solid income, I had a few close friends, and I was completely, contentedly, miserable. My prayer life mostly consisted of saying, "God I know I am a mess but please just don't give up on me yet." The rest of the time I just lived my life. To the outside I probably seemed normal. Yet in all this God did not give up on me.I finally moved in with my uncle and aunt. Honest devout Christians. They preached no sermon to me except my choice of rock music, and not allowing me to cook meat in their home. By this point I would eat anything you set in front of me. Yet it was here I ate healthy meals, I participated in morning and evening worship. So one day, a major turning point came.I was sitting in my room playing video games. I was contemplating what was going to happen to my life. When a thought entered, "Give up your video games." I didn't question it was from God. But I was angry. Video games were how I coped with the world. I wasn't doing worse things when I played video games. They were my "safe" addiction. I stood up and told the voice, "show me in the Bible where it says, 'thou shalt not play video games, I will wait!" The voice could have pointed me to Philippians 4:8. But instead it simply repeated the command. "Give up your video games."So in frustration I stated simply, "fine, I will have so much free time I won't know what to do and all my addictions will destroy me, I'll prove you wrong." I deleted all my video games, when another voice said, "That is good enough." I retorted, "No, I want to ride this all the way to the end." I locked out my steam account (video gaming platform) so I could never get back in. I wanted to ride it all the way to the bottom. Instead I had started my first step up. God had just rescued me from myself, and video game addiction. I have by his grace never played another video-game.From here the battle began in earnest but amazingly God had grace on me. I felt impressed if I was to give up video games; was there other stuff I should let out of my life? I turned to my uncle and aunt. We looked at my worldly possessions and they pointed out things with pagan connections that would give demons free reign in my life. Ironically one was a Buddha statue I had gotten on that mission trip, so long ago. The devil has a better missionary spirit than most Christians. I trashed and burned all my pagan junk, and my worldly entertainment. Movies, books, memorabilia, etc; it was all destroyed, just like the Christians in Acts 19:19. Here God
rescued me from all these traps of the world that distract us from him.
Now what? I started to read my Bible and to pray. This is the foundation of a real relationship with God. You listen to what he has to say; and you tell him your thoughts and feelings. I found that things of God that were always boring before became my focus. I loved to read his word, to talk to him. Like a real friend. It was a struggle at first but those worldly interests I had went away. Guess what? Those other addictions I was fighting like porn? I finally gained that victory; once I let go of my worldly entertainment.2/0 God was winning me.Soon I realized that was not enough however. I needed to do something more. Witness!“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15
That means every person, as God's Providence allows. I began to hand out literature as this was a non intrusive way to share, they say no, you say ok have a nice day. I had amazing experiences doing this. But I knew God called me to do more. What that looks like; I am still learning. But God is faithful, giving me varied ways and opportunities of witnessing for Him. (Maybe an article for another time.)That is why I was led to start A Standard Ministry. I am merely a Steward, of whatever His grace gives into my hands. I am not perfect, but I believe this with all my heart. Jesus is coming soon! Today is the day of Salvation! We must seek HIM now while He can be found.“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20Won't you open the door to him today? I can say from experience His ways are always better than our own.
